Phil Capone (GDLM, LGSM) is a graduate of Newcastle College and a postgraduate of the Guildhall School of Music, London. �His many years of experience as a professional guitarist and teacher have given him a unique understanding of the world of the contemporary guitarist. �Phil is a regular performer on the London music scene, and enjoys a popular long running residency with his own band. He teaches at the Contemporary Institute of Music Performance, London, and is a regular contributor to Total Guitar magazine and Guitar Techniques. He is also the author of The Guitar Player’s Chord Bible, Learn to Play the Guitar, Learn to Play Bass Guitar, The Fingerpicking Technique Bible for Guitar, and Learn to Play Country Guitar.

A good place to start with a uke

I have been playing casually for several years, and this book still showed me new things. Covers all of the basics from selecting a uke, to playing scales, several strumming techniques, and a chord guide. Teaches the basics of chord forms and finger picking, which many uke books don't cover. This book could have went farther, but it was intended as a beginner's guide. It does that very well, with worthwhile extras.

Excellent learning tool. The methods are explained simply and clearly including photographs.. Recommended for intermediate players more than for beginners.
