About the Author
Dieter Gebhardt has published over 70 articles on puzzles and is considered a leading expert in the field of rotational puzzles.
Geert Hellings began collecting rotational puzzles in the early nineties and is currently the President of NKC, the Nederlandse Kubus Club (Dutch Cube Club), an association with 500 members from all over the world.
Wei-Hwa Huang is a four-time World Puzzle Champion and one of the first few people in the world to have solved an actual 6x6x6 and 7x7x7 Cube.

Good But Not Recommended

The Book is really great. It shows you all kinds of information about the Cube and shows you a detailed set-by step solution but I would't recommend you to buy this. The most people will use much more simpler method and the book shows you a not popular, okay method. However, if you learn the most common method, you can advance to Fredrich method which is for Speed Cubing without any trouble.

Errata for the book

This is a great book with detailed solutions for 2x2x2, 3x3x3, and 4x4x4. It is instructive that the authors deliberately left out much of the more routine details for 5x5x5, 6x6x6 and 7x7x7 so as to force the reader to internalize and re-apply the moves learned from the previous simpler cases to the latter ones.
Some errors in the book to take note of:
Page 86: the 4th notation for the E1 diagram should be F-clockwise.
Page 112: the first notation in the last diagram of 4.1 should be F-counterclockwise.
Page 118: the first line underneath the H4 sequence should read (5)->(4)->(1)->(5).
Pages 123 & 129: V1 should be written as V1 = K1 Rs down K2 Rs up.
Page 132: two instances of U3 in the S3 sequence should be replaced by U2.

A colorful show of solution steps.

I admit that this book is rich in illustrative respects; actually, a vivid guide for solving the cube.
But at the same time, this text was not an easy read for me. You must read carefully through the pages, and must show patients in order to transit to the next step for solving the cube. The algorithm outlined in the book consists of 5 steps you have to go through in order to solve the cube successfully. Each step is presented with colored pictures of the cube at the time the cube is in when the step is performed. But at the end, of course, you solve the cube :-) by following the algorithm and the notation which is indispensable for communicating the solution process. However, disconcertingly, the most confusing aspect of the book is the notation employed to explain the moves.
Especially the moves for the upper and down layers makes someone think the opposite turn by following the arrow heads, whereas it is actually the turn indicated with the curved arrow heads. Therefore, I developed my own notation. I think this not a book for kids to easily to read up the solution process; a much more accessible text might be apporpriate for them. But at the end it was an enjoyable journey.
