About the Author
Kev Reynolds is a freelance writer, photojournalist and lecturer. A prolific compiler of guidebooks, his first title for Cicerone Press appeared in 1978; he has since produced 27 titles for Cicerone, with others being researched. A member of the Outdoor Writers' Guild, the Alpine Club and Austrian Alpine Club, his passion for mountains and the countryside remains undiminished, and he regularly travels throughout Britain to share that enthusiasm through his lectures.

Adequate but not as useful as, say, Coast-to-Coast guide by Stedman for England.

Arrived in mint condition, on time. Includes clockwise and counterclockwise versions of the route. Since people do one or the other, but not both, everyone has no use for either one or another part of the book. Should be two versions. Route descriptions not as detailed as some people would like and need, and not enough detail maps. Includes list of lodging, but no info on what's offered at each or pricing.

good but wish it was just clear and consice without any extra bla bla bla.

Just completed the TMB (its amazing life changing and challenging) The book really helps and also can really confuse I want to make an american worded version the book is English but not how we speak it, there is a lot of extra un helpfull wording when your lost you just want the auther to give clear consice directions. This is the standard book everyone used so I dont think there is a better one I just want it broken down to 1 page main route 1 page alternate rout with key pictures of landmarks to look for - instead there will be a picture of a churh in town meenwhile I just missed an unmarked turn.

Paul Atkinson is Distinguished Research Professor of Sociology at Cardiff University, a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences, a Fellow of the Learned Society of Wales, and a Fellow of the Institute of Welsh Affairs. Recent books include Creating Conditions (with Katie Featherstone), Everyday Arias: An Operatic Ethnography, and Contours of Culture (with Sara Delamont and William Housley). He is currently conducting ethnographic work in art-makers’ studios. His most recent book is For Ethnography (SAGE, 2014). He and Sara Delamont were the founding editors of Qualitative Research, which they edited for 14 years. Together with Sara Delamont, Amanda Coffey, John Lofland and Lyn Lofland, he edited the Sage Handbook of Ethnography. He will be editor-in-chief, with Sara Delamont, Melissa Hardy and Malcolm Williams, of the SAGE Encyclopaedia of Research Methods.

WOULD RECOMMEND

I read this book as part of an advanced qualitative research methods course. This book is excellent and could be understood even by beginning researchers. The example data set is easy to follow and applicable to the ideas and points the authors are trying to make. Easy to read and follow and even more helpful if you have your own project/data to think about as you read. I am sure I will refer back to this book as I write my dissertation.

Gr. 3-5. Few historic figures have led a life as varied and interesting as Benjamin Franklin's. From chasing a twister to helping write the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, Franklin's career was anything but dry and dusty. But in an attempt to make the fascinating material readable for third-graders, Fradin has sacrificed his usual smooth writing style. Here, the sentences are choppy, abrupt, and frequently interrupted by drawings. The sequence of events wanders considerably, as well, which will make it difficult for younger students to follow along. The cover is comically enticing, and there are plenty of small, lively, black-and-white sketches, including scenes from the text and labeled diagrams of typesetting. The author of more than 225 children's and young adult non-fiction books, Dennis Brindell Fradin was the winner of many awards, including the Flora Steiglitz Straus best non-fiction book of the year, two Carter Woodson awards, a Golden Kite honor plaque, and three Society of Midland Authors Best Book prizes, Dennis prided himself on writing graceful, readable prose for young people. A born storyteller, the decade he spent as a second-grade teacher helped him perfect his fluid style of writing for children.

Making History Fun!

I bought this for my 7 year-old daughter prior to a trip to Washington D.C. The books are for a more advanced reader then a 1st grader, but contains engaging stories, historical facts and drawings. My daughter enjoys having these books read to her! It's a win-win situation having her learn about the history of the U.S. and having fun at the same time.

Nathaniel Hawthorne (1804 – 1864) was one of America’s most famous writers. Best known for the classic book The Scarlet Letter, Hawthorne also wrote many other well known books and short stories including The House of the Seven Gables and Young Goodman Brown.
